AGP107 is a transcription of a CRI LP (SD 506) featuring two works by Tod Machover, who was born in New York and studied with Elliott Carter and Roger Sessions, before working at IRCAM starting in 1978. Thus, his compositions blend elements of the American and European styles of that time. Light (1979) is scored for members of the Ensemble InterContemporain and computer-generated tape. Soft Morning, City! (1980) is scored for soprano, double bass, and computer-generated tape.
